Service Description: Sediment classification scheme for the German Bight build on cluster analysis of grain size distribution parameter median, sorting, skewness, mud and gravel content. Colour indices indicate homogenous sediments in grid cells of 1.5 nm within the inner German Bight and 3nm further offshore. In the NOAH project the classification scheme is applied to upscale local measurements to habitats of comparable substrate type.
