Service Description: Spatial distribution of the bed shear stress in the North Sea as induced by currents for the year 2006. Data represent annual average values calculated from hourly current data produced with the TRIM model. Bed shear-stress is an important quantity for sediment transport and has a potential effect on benthic faunal distributions.
